Arcadia Management Services, a San Jose–based full-service property manager of multifamily and commercial assets, faced rising costs from resident-caused incidents—fires, neglected leaks and other damages—that led to large repairs, reimbursements and lengthy vacancy periods. Although renters insurance had been recommended, it was not required, leaving the company exposed to recurring losses.
In 2015 Arcadia implemented the ResidentShield Protection Plan integrated with Yardi Voyager and made renters insurance a lease requirement. ResidentShield (HO4 and master policy options) offers online RENTCafé enrollment, built‑in compliance monitoring, marketing/training and customer service. The result: automated policy tracking, fewer uninsured loss exposures, staff freed from insurance administration, and greater peace of mind knowing residents must have a current policy before move‑in or renewal.
