Walton Communities, a privately held Atlanta-based owner and manager of apartment communities (7,371 multifamily units, including 3,279 tax credit units), needed a modern alternative to manual Excel budgeting after its longtime finance director retired. The company sought an easy-to-use tool that would replace spreadsheets, speed up budgeting, and work seamlessly with its existing Yardi platform.

Walton implemented Yardi Forecast IQ to pull real-time revenue and expense data from Voyager, apply custom calculations, control user access, and enable fast forecasting and reforecasting (for example, during the COVID pandemic). The result: shorter budget cycles, improved accuracy and visibility across the portfolio, greater empowerment of regional managers, and a reliable, widely adopted process that lets staff “click a button” to see growth and revenue projections.
