Walton Communities, a Marietta, GA–based developer, owner and manager of 6,370 residential units (including 2,492 tax-credit units) operating in metro Atlanta and Augusta since 2004, was losing valuable staff time and money to invoice logistics. Employees from 20 properties were transporting 25–60 invoices weekly — roughly 30,000 invoices per year — which added paper, gas and storage costs and stretched approval and payment cycles to as long as three weeks, a problem that would worsen as the company planned 50% growth.
Walton implemented Yardi PayScan Full Service so vendors send invoices to a Yardi-monitored lockbox or email; Yardi scans, captures account data and posts invoices to Yardi Voyager for quick review and approval, with purchase orders automatically attached. The change eliminated transportation, copying and storage costs, reduced processing from weeks to a single day, and freed staff to focus on leasing, maintenance and resident service while integrating with Walton’s broader Procure-to-Pay tools.
