ABB turned to Yapta to improve the efficiency of its North American travel program, which manages most travel functions internally. The company’s challenge was to identify and capture savings on airfare and hotel spend, especially for frequent international travel to destinations like Scandinavia and Zurich, using tools that could track prices and surface opportunities automatically.
Yapta implemented FareIQ for airfare tracking and later RoomIQ for hotel rate tracking, alerting ABB agents when rebooking or rate adjustments could reduce costs. In just over a year, ABB realized about $747,022 in savings out of $1.1 million identified, cut travel spend by 2.27%, saved an average of $164 per trip, and lowered hotel ADR from $133 to $131.
