How Fahrrad XXL Reduced Time-to-Insight By 90%

Fahrrad XXL Group, a multichannel bike retailer with stores and an online shop, needed better visibility into inventory, order, and revenue data to support growth decisions. Because its subsidiaries used different source systems and metric definitions, the company relied on manual, ad hoc reporting in SQL Server Management Studio and Excel, and generating a consolidated management report took around two months. Y42, together with taod and Snowflake, was brought in to help modernize the data stack.

Y42 and taod implemented a cloud-based data architecture on Snowflake, including connectors for on-premise MS Dynamics Navision and cloud-based MS Dynamics 365, modular transformations to harmonize metrics, and lineage and modeling features to improve data quality and trust. As a result, Fahrrad XXL Group established a single source of truth and reduced management reporting time from two months to one day, cutting time-to-insight by more than 90% and enabling daily updates for strategic decisions.
