A Xyleme Case Study
Rare is a global nonprofit that trains local conservation leaders across more than 50 countries, delivering a two-year, accredited master’s curriculum in multiple languages. Their challenge was managing vast, monolithic course materials (700‑page Word files and associated slides) across different languages and regions, which made updates, translation and localization slow, costly and error-prone—distracting staff from their core mission.
Rare implemented Xyleme’s LCMS to centralize content in a modular, single‑source online library with collaborative authoring, templates and direct translator workflows. The change cut translation costs by about 30%, sped up updates and reuse of lessons across five languages, improved branding and localization, and freed staff to focus more time on delivering and adapting conservation training in the field.
