WeatherCheck Highlights Hidden Property Damage Powered by the AerisWeather API

WeatherCheck, a Louisville-based insurance technology company, helps property owners, insurance carriers, and mortgage companies identify hidden hail damage and attribute losses to the correct weather event. Their challenge was that hail damage is often hard to detect, can be discovered long after it occurs, and is frequently difficult to tie to a specific storm, creating risk for claims fraud and delayed repairs. To improve accuracy, WeatherCheck used the Xweather API to strengthen its weather-derived property damage detection.

With Xweather’s ground-truth weather data integrated into WeatherCheck’s proprietary models, the company was able to quickly scale highly accurate damage assessments across the U.S. without building and maintaining its own weather database or forecasting engine. Xweather helped WeatherCheck focus on reducing fraud, highlighting underlying damage, and helping customers save time and money; the case study also notes that WeatherCheck now has a free demo available and plans to expand into other perils such as wind, lightning, flood, snow and ice, tornadoes, and fire.
