Case Study: Curelator enhances migraine research and identifies weather triggers with Xweather

A Xweather Case Study

Preview of the Curelator Case Study

Fueling Curelator’s Migraine Research with the AerisWeather API

Curelator, a healthcare company focused on mitigating chronic migraines through its N=1 Headache app, faced the challenge of correlating user-reported migraine events with environmental triggers. To support large-scale, accurate research from Android and iOS submissions, Curelator partnered with Xweather to integrate robust weather inputs via Xweather’s Weather API so researchers could measure how weather, diet, and emotional factors influence migraine onset and severity.

Xweather’s Weather API supplies consistent contextual weather data for every Curelator report, enabling Curelator’s app to log potential triggers and generate Protector, Trigger, and No Association maps plus physician-ready personal reports using its Visual Migraine Language. The Xweather data improved the quality of Curelator’s analytics and visualizations, fueling academic publications and showing measurable associations—temperature, wind, gusts, barometric pressure, and humidity—with migraine risk and severity, helping clinicians and sufferers identify triggers and preventers.
