Fusion5, a New Zealand software provider, needed a faster, more reliable way to handle accounts payable and procure-to-pay processing for high invoice volumes. To improve automation and control, Fusion5 used Xtracta’s AI-powered data extraction tool as part of its ApprovalPlus workflow solution, replacing more manual OCR-based approaches that often required coding and templates.

With Xtracta integrated into ApprovalPlus, invoices are automatically captured, coded, matched to purchase orders, and routed for approval before being sent to the finance system. Fusion5 says Xtracta is simpler to set up, learns new document formats without templates, and helps reduce data entry, speed up turnaround, improve spending control, and provide a full audit trail. Bevan Wright also estimates the new approach costs about 10% of the old OCR method.
