A Xtivia Case Study
XTIVIA worked with a leading North American men's apparel retail chain headquartered in Texas (1,700+ stores) that had grown through multiple brand acquisitions and was facing severe information fragmentation: functional silos, data redundancy, many disparate data marts and reporting tools (Oracle, Informix, DB2, DataStage, MicroStrategy, Cognos, etc.), poor data quality, and rising costs to maintain and integrate heterogeneous systems. The client sought a single, enterprise Integrated Data Warehouse (IDW) as a single source of truth.
XTIVIA advised on technology selection and implemented an IDW on the Teradata Data Warehouse Appliance (2690), designing a multi-stage ELT architecture, building a TPT script generator, creating DataStage ingestion jobs, converting Oracle logic to Teradata, and tuning generated SQL for performance. As a result XTIVIA delivered an analytics-ready platform with a single version of truth, reduced batch times and earlier availability of information, faster integration of new brands, improved business continuity, and significant cost savings from eliminated licenses and lower operational and DBA overhead—supported by one small, efficient team.
