Case Study: a luxury department store achieves faster, more cost-efficient AWS Redshift performance with Xtivia

A Xtivia Case Study

Luxury Department Store reduces Redshift costs and improves resilience with Xtivia across 20+ AWS accounts

Xtivia helped a luxury department store, a prominent U.S. and Canada retailer, overcome significant challenges following a migration to AWS Redshift. The move from Teradata had failed to deliver expected cost savings or performance gains, with analytical queries running poorly. An additional inefficiency was the requirement for users to manage separate credentials for AWS and Redshift.

The solution involved Xtivia re-architecting the AWS environment, migrating 16 Redshift systems to a new scalable design, and implementing federated authentication. They optimized storage policies and IAM roles, and managed VPC peering across more than 20 accounts. As a result, Xtivia enabled seamless authentication, enhanced Redshift performance and resiliency, and reduced the client's overall infrastructure costs while improving security.
