The Client is a leading privately held grocery supermarket chain operating more than 300 stores across three southeastern U.S. states. Facing inconsistent, incomplete and conflicting master data across 100+ applications (including 3 primary Item Master systems), the organization engaged XTIVIA to implement a Master Data Management (MDM) solution to standardize and stabilize key master data elements (Item, Vendor, Store, Warehouse) and stop costly manual errors and revenue leakage.
XTIVIA implemented an enterprise MDM strategy using SOA and Enterprise Application Integration (leveraging TIBCO and Teradata technologies), establishing single data owners, centralized applications, and public/private/synchronization services to harmonize and synchronize master data across systems. The deployment delivered timely, accurate and complete attributes, enabled analytics on historical data up to five years, reduced manual errors and future integration costs through reusable services, and provided flexible ownership and standardized access to master data across the enterprise.
