Preview of the Global Shoe Retailer Case Study

Global Shoe Retailer - Customer Case Study

The Client, a global shoe retailer operating over 4,800 stores across the USA, Canada, Central America, the Caribbean and South America, was hampered by batch-oriented fulfillment from the mainframe into its Manhattan WMS, causing overnight processing spikes, delays and cross‑instance data-join issues between its Western and Eastern distribution centers. XTIVIA was engaged to modernize integration using the TIBCO suite (including TIBCO BusinessWorks, DataExchange, EMS, Rendezvous, ObjectStar and File Adapters) to enable real‑time processing.

XTIVIA implemented a publisher–subscriber architecture that extracts and transforms mainframe pick‑ticket files into a canonical format, publishes transactions to JMS topics, and delivers them to WDC/EDC WMS staging tables with completion triggers back to the mainframe. The XTIVIA solution delivered real-time order processing, centralized and more efficient distribution center operations, improved WMS operational performance and scalability, and reduced WMS resource usage by avoiding use of the WMS for analysis—improving order management across the retailer’s network.
