GLOBAL ENGINEERING CORPORATION engaged XTIVIA to deliver a Liferay-based public software download center and partner extranet for its Smart Buildings business unit. Both sites were entirely search-driven (the download center had no browse capability), and the customer required modern, responsive UX with search response times of 1–2 seconds.

XTIVIA implemented an AWS-hosted Apache SolrCloud with Zookeeper, applied XTIVIA search plugins to accelerate Liferay search, and developed a custom search portlet with a continuous scroll and tailored UI. Solr delivered sub‑second performance and the XTIVIA optimizations brought overall Liferay search into the targeted 1–2 second range, providing robust scalability and a responsive user experience.
