The customer, a Fortune 500 Information Technology Corporation that provides a Managed Services Platform for telecommunications and networking customers, needed a portal to let customers monitor network status, submit ITIL-based Service Requests, and allow Partners to OEM the service. Slow backend web services prevented interactive dashboards and real-time charts, so XTIVIA was engaged to deliver a Liferay-based Customer/Partner Portal to address these challenges.
XTIVIA implemented a high-performance, responsive Liferay portal using Single-Page App architecture, an ETL layer to aggregate ticketing data for fast heat maps and geographic charts, a theming/template system for rapid partner onboarding, and an SOA to support mobile apps from the same codebase. The solution produced fast dashboard rendering, enabled Partners to OEM the service and view portals as their customers do, reduced dependence on slow web services by serving pre-aggregated summaries, and delivered measurable improvements in performance, partner onboarding speed, and end-user self-service and satisfaction.
