Dominos, a global pizza restaurant and delivery chain, had built an intranet and franchisee portal on Liferay but faced significant user dissatisfaction with the out-of-the-box Liferay search. They engaged XTIVIA to address slow, ineffective search results and improve the overall user experience.

XTIVIA deployed a proprietary Liferay Solr plugin and search portlet hook, enabled continuous scroll, and set up and tuned Solr Cloud to optimize performance. As a result, XTIVIA cut search response times from 12–18 seconds to about 1–3 seconds (a 600%–1,200% improvement, cited as roughly an 800% speedup), and significantly improved result relevance so users reached relevant content much faster.
