Better Life, the eco-friendly cleaning brand founded in 2008, needed a better way to sell heavy liquid products online and prepare its growing business for e-commerce and traffic surges. With little retail or digital experience at launch, the company initially focused on brick-and-mortar stores while it worked through logistics, website usability, and how to present its products online. xSellco spoke with co-founder and CEO Tim Barklage about the company’s evolving e-commerce journey.
To support growth, Better Life used Shopify for its e-commerce infrastructure and worked with xSellco-related advice to strengthen its online store, improve SEO ahead of its “Shark Tank” appearance, and build a product kit with free shipping to simplify purchasing. The brand also refined its packaging and cross-selling strategy as its catalog grew from 4 SKUs to more than 50 unique items. The result was a more scalable online presence, lower damage rates, and a site ready to handle increased demand without crashing.
