Swinburne University of Technology improves gender equity insights with Xref Engage since 2006

Swinburne University of Technology faced the challenge of meeting its obligations under the Victorian Gender Equality Act, 2020. The university needed to implement a detailed gender equity employee experience survey that would provide safe, anonymous feedback while also exploring challenges specific to the higher education sector. To achieve this, they partnered with their existing vendor, Xref Engage.

Xref Engage developed a comprehensive survey and consultation process that incorporated an intersectional lens to gather detailed insights from all staff. The solution protected staff anonymity and created safe spaces for participation through independent facilitators. The data collected directly informed the strategies and measures in Swinburne’s Gender Equality Action Plan, allowing for meaningful, tailored improvements to build a more gender-equitable and inclusive workplace.
