A North Carolina School District Adopts Mobile Business Solution to Automate Timekeeping and Payroll Processing for Bus Drivers

Xora, a market leader in mobile workforce management, partnered with New Hanover County Schools to solve an inefficient, manual timekeeping process for 184 bus drivers. The district needed to automate driver timecards, integrate hours with its SunPac payroll system, and improve collection of bus location and route data to boost overall efficiency.

Xora installed its mobile app on phones mounted in buses (130 of 184 to date) and integrated time-and-attendance data with SunPac so drivers clock in/out inside their buses and payroll is processed automatically. The change eliminates about 10 minutes of unproductive time per driver per shift (projected to save more than 50 hours/day at full deployment), reduces payroll errors and costs, and provides real-time GPS tracking for faster, more accurate responses to parents and administrators.
