A Xometry Case Study
Mezli, a California start‑up building the world’s first autonomous Mediterranean restaurant kiosk, needed food‑grade, tightly toleranced parts and metal lockers to realize its robotic kitchen on a start‑up budget. Their original supplier couldn't accommodate large molds and the variety of fabrication needs, so Mezli turned to Xometry for manufacturing services including CNC machining, sheet cutting, injection molding, 3D printing, urethane casting and metal cutting.
Xometry supplied end‑to‑end manufacturing via its global supplier network—prototyping with 3D printing and urethane casting, then scaling to injection‑molded food‑grade parts and CNC/sheet‑cut FDA‑grade stainless steel lockers—delivering the precise, cleanable components Mezli required. Xometry’s approach cut Mezli’s costs by roughly 20% and shortened lead times, enabling the company to complete its kiosk hardware and move toward its planned San Francisco launch.
