Medical Robot Built by Galen Robotics Prototyping With Xometry

Galen Robotics, a California-based medical device start-up developing a robot to steady surgeons’ hand tremors during ENT procedures, needed ultra-precise, low-volume and medically validated parts with complex tapped holes and geometric features. To meet those needs they partnered with Xometry, using Xometry’s CNC machining, sheet metal fabrication, SLS 3D printing and the Xometry Instant Quoting Engine to get fast quotes and access sterilizable materials and certified manufacturing options.

Xometry delivered high-mix, low-volume production across its network of over 3,000 U.S. suppliers, producing medical-grade components (aluminum 6061/7050, steel 4140, Nylon 12) to standards like ISO 13485/9001 and clean-room classifications; the parts assembled precisely and enabled the Galen Robot to achieve its intended tremor stabilization in test trials and progress into FDA review. Galen credits Xometry with faster quoting, attentive engineering support, lower inventory and a one-stop supply chain that scaled with their prototyping-to-clinical needs.
