A Xometry Case Study

How a Wyoming couple launched a line of protective eye goggles for dogs

Rex Specs, founded by Jesse Emilo and Aiden Doane, makes protective goggles for dogs after their pets developed UV‑sensitive eye conditions. To move from hand‑stitched prototypes to scalable products—including a new small size for 10–30 lb dogs—the company needed rapid, affordable iterations and turned to Xometry for 3D printing and rapid prototyping services.

Xometry supplied fast, cost‑effective prints that allowed Rex Specs to produce three to four prototype variants at once, so they could test different foams and strap systems in parallel and make quicker design decisions. That accelerated development and boosted confidence in the small‑size goggle (targeted for a holiday launch), helping Rex Specs scale production, reach thousands of dogs, and expand its consumer and service‑animal customer base.
