MicroServe Consulting, Inc., a Germantown, MD–based provider of outsourced IT services, needed more Internet bandwidth to host customer servers and wanted predictable monthly telecommunications costs for budgeting. The company selected XO Communications and its XO IP Flex integrated voice-and-data solution to replace a single T1 and address both bandwidth and variable voice-cost issues.

XO Communications installed XO IP Flex—combining two T1s into a single 3MB circuit with eight phone lines, inbound toll‑free, point‑to‑point access to the XO national IP network, Dynamic Bandwidth Allocation, and a single flat-rate bill. As a result, MicroServe doubled bandwidth, gained an extra phone line, eliminated local line charges, achieved predictable monthly costs and ongoing savings, and has installed about 30 XO circuits for its own customers with plans to deploy XO IP Flex for its largest client.
