The Dutch government's central website, Rijksoverheid.nl, faced the challenge of consolidating 16 separate department websites, each with its own content management system and editorial staff, into a single, unified platform. To achieve this, they partnered with Xillio to perform an automated content migration to the new Hippo CMS, which required significant content cleanup and enrichment.

Xillio successfully executed the migration using its Content ETL Platform to extract, transform, and load the content. The solution involved mapping all legacy content types, cleaning and restructuring HTML, converting documents, and preserving internal links. As a result, Rijksoverheid.nl successfully launched with a cleaned and valuable content set, migrating the fragmented sites directly into the live environment with no room for error.
