Asian Electricity Company Migrates Content to the Cloud in Phases Based on Xillio’s Best Practices

An Asian electricity company faced the challenge of migrating a vast amount of enterprise content from its legacy FileNet system and file shares to Microsoft SharePoint Online as part of a broader cloud transition, a complex process requiring specialized knowledge to avoid data loss and business disruption. The company engaged vendor Xillio for its expertise and tooling to manage this critical project.

Xillio implemented a phased solution, first analyzing and deduplicating content with Xillio Insights before migrating the IT and HR departments. Their approach included developing a custom database connector that increased migration speed tenfold and a Link Re-director to preserve document links, all achieved with no downtime. This successful project established best practices and trained the consulting firm Protiviti to continue the migrations, effectively preparing for the transfer of approximately 7 TB of data.
