Starlight, a sports video startup, needed to build a complete technical infrastructure from scratch to handle, process, and monetize heavy 4K sports footage. To capitalize on the growing demand for premium sports content, they partnered with vendor Xfive for a new platform build and custom product engineering.

Xfive implemented a comprehensive solution using a Ruby on Rails monolith and AWS ecosystem, featuring a custom video player, a high-throughput upload engine, and an automated processing pipeline. The platform enabled multi-tiered licensing and direct clip creation from raw footage. As a result, Starlight processed 344 hours of footage for over 8,000 unique players and 134 teams, successfully launching a working business from their video data.
