Paperless Administration with Xerox® DocuShare® Content Management Platform

The City of Newark faced slow, paper‑heavy administrative processes—lost paperwork, poor print‑center accountability, and sluggish approvals—that hindered collaboration and strained a variable municipal budget. To become paperless and streamline workflows, the city adopted the Xerox DocuShare Platform (with Xerox desktop scanners, multifunction printers and integration partner SRC Solutions) to digitize and manage content citywide.

Xerox DocuShare delivered an end‑to‑end content management solution with document capture, a built‑in workflow engine and PeopleSoft integration, rolled out department by department. The result: IT request turnaround dropped from days or weeks to hours, about 75 processes automated, rapid invoice access for accounting, reduced paper storage and $500,000 in annual savings by posting RFPs online.
