Delivering processes that improve efficiency, save time and cut costs for Dillard’s

Dillard’s, a national retail chain operating roughly 320 stores, faced slow, costly distribution of color-rich merchandise directives and paper-intensive manual workflows in HR, accounts payable and other departments. To address long lead times, inflexible monthly print runs and heavy hiring paperwork, Dillard’s partnered with Xerox DocuShare and its suite of Xerox solutions (including DocuShare repository, SMARTsend, networked multifunction devices, DocuColor presses and an iGen3 production press).

Xerox DocuShare deployed a web-based DocuShare repository, SMARTsend scanning/routing, in-store servers and digital presses to enable same-day electronic distribution and print-on-demand. The result: faster lead times, eliminated microfiche and manual data entry, online access to hiring packets and toppers, and dramatic cost savings—full-color key-item print costs fell from $1.54 to $0.28 per print—while the iGen3 doubled impressions per hour and improved overall productivity and consistency across stores.
