AgustaWestland’s Material Services Delivery division needed to eliminate delays that could ground helicopters by improving how it managed certificates, test reports and other parts documentation for AOG (aircraft-on-the-ground) situations. To solve this, AgustaWestland worked with Xerox DocuShare, using Xerox multi-function printers integrated with its ERP system and the Xerox DocuShare platform to capture and index part documentation at the point of receipt.

Xerox DocuShare’s solution scans a bill of material barcode with the Xerox MFP, pulls metadata from the ERP, applies OCR, and uploads documents to a centralized DocuShare repository for fast searching. The new process can scan and upload an average six-page package in under a minute, delivers 80% faster document retrieval, improves metadata quality, and removes the risk of documents delaying AOG responses; Xerox DocuShare has also packaged the approach as a fixed‑price “base module” for broader rollout.
