A Xerox Corporation Case Study
World Wildlife Fund (WWF) Switzerland needed to produce its annual photography-rich appointment books in a smaller run of 1,000 pieces instead of the usual 3,000 because of lower online sales and the high cost of short-run offset printing. Xerox Corporation was involved through the Xerox® iGen3® 110 Digital Production Press with an EX Print Server powered by Fiery®, helping make the project economically viable.
Xerox Corporation and medialogik GmbH solved the problem with a hybrid production approach: an offset-printed cover combined with digitally printed content, which eliminated costly overproduction and lowered unit costs. The result was a profitable agenda with an estimated 45% margin on retail price, continued sales support for WWF’s mission, and a successful showcase for medialogik’s digital print capabilities that helped double its operating profit percentage in under a year.
