Workflow software boosts growth and improves bottom line for Norwegian printer

Skipnes Kommunikasjon, a Norwegian graphic arts and printing firm, needed to dramatically increase production capacity and speed to win the business of the University of Trondheim (NTNU) and handle highly time-sensitive, high-volume variable-data label jobs. The company also faced network bottlenecks and long processing times for complex print files, which delayed delivery and increased operating costs.

Xerox Corporation implemented Xerox® FreeFlow® Process Manager®, FreeFlow® VI Suite, FreeFlow® Print Server, and a Xerox® iGen® 150 Press to automate file preparation and streamline variable-data printing. With Xerox’s solution, Skipnes cut RIP and print time for packaging labels from four to five hours to just four to five minutes, reduced production operators from four to five to about two to two and one-half, eliminated bottlenecks, and won the NTNU business with an extremely low error rate.
