A Xerox Corporation Case Study
Middlesex County Sheriff’s Office, working with Xerox Corporation, needed a way to use incarceration time more effectively to help reduce recidivism and prepare inmates for successful re-entry into society. With most of the inmate population already holding a high school diploma or GED, the office sought more specialized training that could build marketable skills, support public safety, and create pathways to employment.
Xerox Corporation implemented the Xerox Corrections to Career Program, a digital production printing and workflow training solution that combined curriculum, equipment, software, and on-site support. The program included Xerox digital presses, Fiery servers, FreeFlow Print Server, and XMPie software, plus a Xerox associate to assist in hands-on instruction. The results included a 20% reduction in recidivism over three years for program completers versus 50% for non-completers, along with nationally certified job skills, improved employment prospects, and lower print costs for the sheriff’s office.
