A Xerox Corporation Case Study

Preview of the University of Louisville Case Study

University of Louisville Right sizing to reduce costs

The University of Louisville’s Printing and Copier Management unit was facing a seven-figure deficit driven by rising costs for supplies, labor, equipment, and overhead. To help the university either fix or close the operation, Xerox Corporation stepped in with support for reviewing and right-sizing the print environment, including Xerox® Color 800 Presses and a Xerox Nuvera® EA Production System.

Xerox Corporation provided an analyst to improve workflow, consolidate responsibilities, and better measure operations, then replaced an oversized color press with two Xerox® Color 800 Presses and a Nuvera EA system. The changes reduced lease and operating costs, improved redundancy and availability, and helped the unit meet demand for 100,000 to 200,000 impressions per month while cutting turnaround times—such as business cards going from two weeks and $150 to next-day delivery for $25.
