A Xerox Corporation Case Study
Suez Canal University needed a more flexible, cost-effective way to produce student textbooks and course materials. Its existing offset printing setup required minimum print runs of 7,000 copies and could only handle monochrome jobs, forcing the university to overprint and outsource color work. Xerox Corporation was brought in to help the university move to a print-on-demand digital publishing model.
Xerox Corporation implemented a turnkey digital printing solution with Xerox® D125 Copier/Printer, Xerox Nuvera®144 EA Digital Production System, Xerox® Color J75 Press, and FreeFlow™ Process Manager™ software. The new setup let Suez Canal University print custom-sized monochrome and color batches in-house, improve productivity, update materials more easily, and cut textbook print costs by 25%. The university also reduced outsourcing, fixed textbook prices for five years, and gained full control over its printing operations.
