Stevens Printing, Inc., a Portland-based FSC®-certified commercial printer, was asked by ShoreBank Pacific to produce its annual report as sustainably as possible. Because the bank had moved much of the report online and only needed printed copies for board members, the job became an extremely short-run, low-page, heavy-color project on 100% recycled stock—too costly to produce efficiently with offset printing. Xerox Corporation products, including the Xerox® iGen3® Digital Production Press, were used to address the challenge.

Using Xerox Corporation’s Xerox® iGen3® Digital Production Press with Xerox FreeFlow Process Manager®, Stevens Printing kept costs down while delivering the high print quality ShoreBank Pacific expected. The digital approach also supported the bank’s sustainability goals, with more than 80% of the press’s waste by weight reusable, returnable, or recyclable and emissions kept well below regulatory standards. The successful report led to repeat business, with ShoreBank Pacific continuing to use Stevens Printing and entrusting the company with all of its print work moving forward.
