Step One Charity, a UK-based healthcare provider, faced challenges with an unsecured print environment managing 14 printers for patient records. Their IT team spent excessive time on manual security configurations and print servers, while staff feared printing sensitive documents due to potential GDPR violations and data privacy risks. To address this, Xerox, through its partner Pinnacle, implemented its Workplace Cloud solution.

The Xerox solution provided centralized, cloud-based fleet management and secure pull printing. This allowed policies to be set and monitored remotely, and required user authentication at the device to release print jobs. As a result, Step One Charity improved data security, eliminated four servers for significant cost savings, and saved 15-20 IT hours per month. These efficiencies freed up budget and staff time, which were redirected towards improving patient care and building new services like an electronic learning hub.
