Shirahashi's Direct Mail Piece Keeps Japan Cool

Shirahashi Co., Ltd., a Tokyo-based marketing and general printing provider, wanted to show support for Japan’s energy conservation efforts after the Great East Japan Earthquake while also creating a new marketing tool. To do so, the company worked with Xerox Corporation and used the Xerox® iGen3® Digital Production Press to produce a direct mail piece that combined environmental messaging with personalized print.

Xerox Corporation helped Shirahashi create UCHIWA-mail, a hybrid direct mailer that included a punch-out paper fan and offset-printed promotional content, with digital printing used for personalization. The campaign reduced production costs, opened new marketing opportunities, and helped Shirahashi gain new clients and sales territories. It also supported the company’s green printing certification and became part of its staff training, contributing to a broader lineup of environmentally friendly products.
