San Ysidro Schools Cut Costs, Save Jobs

San Ysidro School District, a seven-school California district serving more than 5,500 students, was struggling with a costly, fragmented printing environment. Multiple vendors, outdated devices, and poor reliability created headaches for teachers and staff, while tight education budgets made it increasingly important to reduce spending. Xerox Corporation was brought in with Xerox Print Services (XPS) to help address the district-wide print, scan, and copy challenge.

Xerox Corporation analyzed the environment, replaced the old mixed fleet with efficient networked multifunction devices, and shifted the district to a new cost-per-print model with full service and support. Within six months, San Ysidro cut print and copy costs by $200,000 and was on track to save $400,000 annually. The district also reported greater uptime, improved reliability, less administrative follow-up, and overwhelmingly positive feedback from teachers and staff.
