Redesign of voucher booklet increases advertising revenue at national newspaper

The Daily Telegraph, a U.K. newspaper with a circulation of over 650,000, wanted a better way to deliver 13-week subscriber voucher packs and improve the response to third-party advertising offers. Its existing perforated A2 voucher sheets were cumbersome, and promotional inserts were often discarded. The company turned to Xerox Corporation and IOS for a more subscriber-friendly print solution.

Xerox Corporation helped IOS redesign the pack into an A5 stitched booklet with detachable vouchers, personalized notes, integrated offers, and intelligent bar codes for assembly control. Using offset production with digital overprinting on a Xerox Nuvera 288 MX Perfecting Production System, the new booklet improved convenience and advertising effectiveness, increased repeat subscriptions, and grew from 24 to 36 pages while remaining cost-neutral. IOS now produces 50,000 voucher books per week for The Daily Telegraph.
