Quality Agency of Education of Chile needed a reliable, secure way to collect and process the huge volume of data generated by SIMCE student assessments across the country. With more than 20 million documents from 890,000 students and over 5,000 schools, the agency turned to Xerox Corporation and its production imaging and data capture capabilities to support assessment processing for 4th and 8th grades.

Xerox Corporation implemented a solution built on the Xerox® Production Imaging Management (XPIM) platform, supported by more than 20 servers, clustered databases, and a 24/7 operations center staffed by over 200 specialists. The result was the ability to digitize and capture over 20 million document pages—more than 400 million characters—in just six weeks, while improving response times, security, reliability, and ongoing service support.
