A Xerox Corporation Case Study

Preview of the De Budelse BV Case Study

Personalized chocolate boxes net $100,000 in a single holiday season

De Budelse BV, a modern full-service printing company in the Netherlands, wanted to expand beyond general printing by entering the growing digital packaging market with a premium personalized product. To support this new opportunity, they created FotoChoco.nl, a web-based service for customized chocolate gift boxes, building on their long-standing work with Xerox Corporation and its digital packaging capabilities.

Xerox Corporation helped De Budelse BV implement a virtually touchless workflow using XMPie APIs, XMPie PersonalEffect, Xerox FreeFlow Print Server, and the Xerox iGen4 Digital Press. Customers could personalize templates online, approve PDFs instantly, and send orders directly to production. The result was over 11,000 personalized chocolate boxes sold in one Christmas season for $100,000 net, with total sales reaching $225,000 in the following five months.
