Newport City Council - Customer Case Study

Newport City Council, a UK local government organisation, was under pressure to cut costs and improve service across its 6,500 staff. To tackle a decentralised print environment with hundreds of desktop printers, non-networked devices, and more than 750 invoices a year just to manage consumables, the council partnered with Xerox Corporation and assessed its print operations to find savings and improve control.

Xerox Corporation implemented a fully managed print service, replacing more than 300 desktop printers and around 100 old MFDs with a more efficient fleet, plus secure follow-me printing, scan-to-email, and analytics. The result was more than 50% savings over five years, over £800,000 saved, a 30%+ reduction in printed pages, over 4 million pages eliminated per year, and just 4 invoices annually instead of more than 750.
