MHEC streamlines procurement of printing services with savings and sustainability

Midwestern Higher Education Compact (MHEC), a 12-state higher education purchasing consortium, needed a way to help member institutions reduce printing costs, save staff time, and navigate complex procurement rules while supporting sustainability goals. Working with Xerox Corporation, MHEC sought a more streamlined approach to acquiring print services and managed print technology across its diverse campuses.

Xerox Corporation helped MHEC create a flexible, region-wide contract for printing devices and managed print services, with preferred pricing and options tailored to each institution’s needs. By eliminating the need for each member to run separate RFPs and negotiate with vendors, Xerox helped MHEC streamline procurement and improve efficiency; since 2009, members have saved more than $7 million, while also reducing paper, consumables, and energy use through more efficient ENERGY STAR devices.
