Case Study: InterContinental Hotels Group cuts brochure costs with Xerox digital printing

A Xerox Corporation Case Study

Preview of the InterContinental Hotels Group Case Study

InterContinental Hotels Group - Customer Case Study

InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG), the world’s largest hotel group by room count, needed a better way to produce high-quality Holiday Inn Express marketing brochures for prospective franchise owners. Its existing process relied on bulk offset printing, offline assembly, and stored inventory, which created waste, obsolescence, and a high cost of about $10 per brochure. Xerox Corporation’s digital printing and personalization capabilities were a fit for the challenge.

Xerox Corporation helped IHG install a Xerox® Color 1000 Press with clear dry ink in its Atlanta print facility and also enabled personalized ordering through a hosted XMPie® uStore® solution. This let IHG produce localized, on-demand collateral with less waste, while maintaining quality and using clear dry ink as a substitute for UV coating. As a result, IHG cut the cost of its Holiday Inn Express brochure in half and began migrating additional brochures from offset to digital printing.
