Insurance Coverage Broker Group, working with Xerox Corporation, needed help resolving a backlog in catastrophic major medical claims processing and later insurance enrollment forms. The company was missing service-level agreements, facing a rebadge-driven headcount reduction need, and looking to move away from manual, paper-based workflows. Xerox Corporation and its Automation Innovation team proposed OCR technology through Xerox® Automated Intelligence to streamline the process.

Xerox Corporation implemented OCR for enrollment processing, rebadged 35 mailroom staff to support operations, and developed an Online Document Management (ODM) solution for the Premium Accounting team to eliminate paper and shift work to electronic processing. The results included a reduction in mailroom headcount from 35 to 18, lower costs, and smoother, fully electronic processing for premium accounting.
