A Xerox Corporation Case Study
Ingersoll Rand, a $14 billion multi-brand commercial products manufacturer, needed to reduce printing costs, waste, and obsolescence while keeping technical information current. To solve this, the company worked with Xerox Corporation to move away from widespread internal and external printing resources and toward a more efficient print-on-demand approach.
Xerox Corporation implemented an on-site Print-on-Demand center that allowed Ingersoll Rand to print only what was needed, when it was needed. The result was $1.2 million in first-year savings, turnaround times cut from two-to-three weeks to three days, elimination of back orders, virtually no waste, and more than 5,600 trees saved through environmentally responsible papers and migration to electronic media.
