A Xerox Corporation Case Study
Rotterdam University, a higher education institution serving about 27,000 students and 2,500 employees across five sites, needed to improve its reprographic services and reduce inefficiencies. Its central reprographics department was handling around 18 million of the university’s 25 million annual documents, but it lacked digital links, was limited to in-person service, and its copier and printer fleet was not proactively managed, leading to downtime and delays. Xerox Corporation was selected to help modernize the environment.
Xerox Corporation installed newer copiers and printers, added remote monitoring with CentreWare Web, opened two additional reprographic service points, and connected services digitally with job ticketing software. The result was a more accessible and efficient print environment, new services such as layout, design, pagination, and desktop publishing, and fleet uptime above 98% under a five-year guarantee. Xerox Corporation also delivered cost savings of about 10–15% and full monthly cost transparency for Rotterdam University.
