A Xerox Corporation Case Study
IHS, a global business information and insight provider, wanted to make sustainability tangible for employees across its office-based organization. Since the company does not have manufacturing plants or vehicle fleets, it focused on everyday workplace behavior—especially printing—and turned to Xerox Corporation and Xerox Managed Print Services to improve sustainability across its offices.
Xerox Corporation helped IHS replace nearly 600 desktop printers, faxes, and scanners with about 100 Xerox® multifunction devices in 29 offices, standardizing print, copy, fax, and scan services. The result was an over 80% reduction in print infrastructure, 43% lower print-related energy use, 34% fewer greenhouse gas emissions, 39% less solid waste, and about $30,000 in annual printing cost savings, while also improving turnaround times and freeing employees to focus on core business goals.
