Huhtamaki Americas, Inc., a global packaging manufacturer headquartered in DeSoto, Kansas, needed to automate day-forward department workflows, digitize a large backfile of administrative documents, reduce printing and copying costs, and better manage document distribution across multiple countries. Xerox Corporation helped address these needs with SMARTdocument Travel and related document management tools, including DocuShare.

Xerox Corporation implemented SMARTdocument Travel integrated with Xerox MFPs to capture, process, and distribute documents from scanners, email, FTP sites, and network folders, while OpenForms 360 was added to improve invoice processing. The result was faster, more accurate form handling, reduced physical storage, lower printing and copying costs, and broader workflow automation; Huhtamaki reported that knowledge workers saved 4 to 6 hours per week, and the company now scans or captures several thousand images per day.
