Manatee County School District, a large Florida district serving 53 schools, 5,200 staff, and more than 43,000 students, needed a better way to manage a print operation generating 2.0 to 2.6 million pages per month. Before working with Xerox Corporation, the district had no reliable way to track print jobs or costs, and its fully manual submission, production, delivery, and billing process had created a backlog of more than three months.
Xerox Corporation implemented a centralized print and workflow solution using Xerox® multifunction devices, Xerox® Extensible Interface Platform (EIP), ACCOLADE software, and Equitrac integration to automate job submission, tracking, and billing. The result was an estimated 66,000 labor hours saved annually, nearly $100,000 in yearly cost savings, $13,500 in printshop overtime savings, and up to $1 million in potential annual savings versus outside vendors, while turnaround time improved from months to next-day delivery for jobs submitted by 4 p.m.
